ALBUM – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

ARTIST – Phoenix

YEAR – 2009

The title, of course, refers to the movie – one of favourite movies, ever.  There’s a great scene in it, where Bill Murray’s and Scarlett Johansson’s characters are out at night, and the music is Phoenix.  Ring any bells?  Are you sure?  It’s a really fun and upbeat track.  It also appears in the movie “Shallow Hal”; the song is called “Too Young”.  But enough about that.

This is their newest album, I just got it yesterday and have been paying close attention to it.  It is really good.  Very sweet and mellow rock.  Really cool, actually.  It may not hit home with some of you, but that’s Ok, because it does with me.  Regardless, you should check it out.  Who knows, it may just surprise you.

That’s it, then.  I’ve been terribly busy the last couple of months and will be for a little while longer, so the posts will be short – to some, a good thing, to others (me), not so fun.  I enjoy writing about nostalgic moments and recollecting on past events.  Cheers…

ALBUM –  Flight of the Conchords

ARTIST – Flight of the Conchords

YEAR – 2008

This is something I had heard about, some TV show; then my sister said she watched and that I should, too.  Well, as a result, I watched Seasons 1 and 2 in about 3 days.  Then, I got all of their albums – anything I could find, really -, and burned it onto a CD.  Now, its been 2 weeks since I finished watching the show and I cannot – and I mean this literally – take the CD out of the player in my car; nor does my iTunes library function properly anymore.  Every time I make an attempt to remove the CD or change to a different library on my computer, I feel guilty and there seems to be a summoning to go back and keep listening to Jemaine and Bret.   My favourite track is probably “Business Time”.

So, yes, check out Flight of the Conchords on HBO and on CD, mp3, whatever.  Just check ’em out.  Cheers…
